Buttermilk Pie Ingredients:
- 1 3/4 C. sugar
- 1 stick unsalted butter (1/2 C.) room temp.
- 3 large eggs
- 1/4 tsp. vanilla extract
- pinch of salt
- 3 T. all purpose flour
- 1 C. buttermilk
- 1 9″ pie shell, unbaked
Preparation method:
First, we’re going to beat the butter, and the sugar until it’s well mixed. Then beat in the eggs, 1 at a time, until the mixture is smooth.
So, add salt, vanilla and flour. We will beat the buttermilk until well blended. Now, on a foil-lined baking sheet, place the pie shell (to catch any spillovers).
Then, with the buttermilk mixture, fill the pie shell, all the way to the top of the shell. Now put the rest in an ungreased custard cup.
Finally, at 300 degrees, we will bake for about 1 hour and 10 minutes. Soon after remove from the oven and when it’s almost cold, it’s ready to serve. If you prefer, store covered in the refrigerator.
