Prep Time: 20 mins

Cook Time: 25 Mins

Total Time: 35 mins

Brownies Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1 cup all purpose flour

Frosting:

  • 2 Tablespoons butter, softened
  • 2 Tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 Tablespoons milk

Preparation method:

We’ll start by preheating the oven to 350˚F. Now, using a 9″x9″ baking pan, line it with aluminum foil, making sure that the foil extends over the edges.

Then, using a bowl, beat the sugar and butter into the batter until the mixture has a lighter color and texture, now add the eggs and vanilla, stirring until well blended.

Then gradually add the flour and cocoa powder, mixing until the color is evenly distributed. Now pour the batter into the tray and bake for about 20–25 minutes. To check the doneness, insert a knife into the center – it should come out almost dry with a few moist crumbs. Avoid overcooking for the best texture.

Next, while the brownies are cooling, prepare the icing. Then mix the butter, cocoa powder, milk and icing sugar in a medium bowl, whisking until smooth, adding milk one tablespoon at a time. If it’s too liquid, add powdered sugar, one tablespoon at a time.

Finish by spreading the icing over the warm brownies, allowing some of it to melt into them. Then, when the brownies have cooled a little more, cut them into squares. You can use aluminum foil to help lift the brownies out of the pan.
