Chocolate Cake Ingredients:
- ¾ cup white sugar
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- 1 ½ cups semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 (19 ounce) can garbanzo beans, rinsed and drained
- 4 eggs
- 1 tablespoon confectioners’ sugar for dusting
Preparation method:
We’ll start with preheating the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Now, let’s grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
Then in a microwave-safe bowl, place the chocolate chips, cook in the microwave for 2 minutes, stirring every 20 seconds after the first minute, until the chocolate is melted and smooth. If your microwave is powerful, lower the power to 50%.
Then, in the bowl of a food processor, combine the beans and eggs. Let’s process well until smooth. Add the baking powder and sugar and pulse to combine. Then pour in the melted chocolate and mix until smooth, scraping the corners to ensure the chocolate is completely mixed. Then in a prepared cake form put the dough.
Finally, in the preheated oven, bake for about 40 minutes or until a knife inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean, then let cool in the pan on a wire rack for approximately 10 to 15 minutes before inverting onto a serving plate.
Finish by sprinkling with icing sugar before serving.
