soft oat cookiesIngredients:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups quick cooking oats
  • nonstick cooking spray with flour
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 tablespoons white sugar, or as needed
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Preparation method:

First start by beating the flour, cinnamon, baking soda and salt in a medium bowl until well combined.

Then beat the butter, 1 cup white sugar, and brown sugar in a large bowl with an electric mixer until fluffy, at least 2 to 3 minutes. After that beat the eggs, one at a time, then mix in the vanilla. Then gradually mix in the dry ingredients until well combined. After that put the oats and mix until you mix well. After that cover the bowl and take the dough to the fridge for at least 1 hour.

Then when you’re ready to bake, preheat the oven to 190 degrees C. Then spray two baking sheets with floured cooking spray. Place water in a small bowl and 2 tablespoons of sugar in another small bowl.

After that roll chilled dough into walnut sized balls and place 2 inches apart on prepared baking sheets. Then dip a large fork in the water, then in the sugar, and use it to flatten each cookie, moistening and sugaring as needed.

Then bake in the preheated oven until golden around the edges and center, 8 to 10 minutes, changing racks halfway through. Then let the cookies cool on the baking sheet before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
