Canned Chickpea Falafel Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ (15 oz) cans chickpeas, drained
  • ¾ cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 ½ teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 ½ teaspoons of salt
  • 1 pinch of ground black pepper or to taste
  • 1 ½ cups bread crumbs
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil, or as needed
  • 1 ½ chopped onions
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper, or to taste
  • 1 ½ teaspoons lemon juice
  • 3 minced garlic cloves
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder

Method of preparation:

First mash the chickpeas in a bowl using a juicer. after that combine chickpea puree, onion, parsley and garlic in the blender; mix until smooth.

Then mix the eggs, cumin, coriander, salt, lime juice, baking powder, black pepper and cayenne pepper in a bowl. After that put the beak grain mixture and mix. Now add the breadcrumbs slowly and mix with your hands until the mixture sticks together when frying.

After that, heat the oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Form the mixture into twelve 3-inch-diameter patties. Fry the patties in hot oil until golden brown, 3 to 4 minutes per side.
