Hamburger Steak Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • ¼ cup bread crumbs
  • 1 egg
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ⅛ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 cup thinly sliced onion
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon cooking sherry
  • ½ teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ teaspoon seasoned salt
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder

Preparation method:

First start by mixing the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, onion powder, garlic powder and pepper in a large bowl until combined. After that form 8 balls and flatten them into patties.

After that, heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat. After that, put patties and onions; fry until patties are golden brown, about 4 minutes per side. Then transfer the meat patties to a plate and keep them warm.

After that sprinkle the flour over the onions and drippings in the skillet. Now stir in the flour with a fork, scraping up bits of meat from the bottom of the skillet as you stir. Then gradually stir in the broth and sherry. After that season with seasoned salt. Now let it cook and stir over medium-low heat until the sauce thickens, about 5 minutes.

Lastly, reduce the heat to low, return the burgers to the sauce, cover and cook until cooked through, about 15 minutes.
