Spinach Cream tasty and super easy

Delicious Spinach Cream, this very tasty recipe for spinach with cream and very healthy, and a delicious accompaniment to your lunch along with steak, is wonderful.

Spinach Cream

This recipe has all the necessary ingredients for Creme Spinach, and then you can make it at home!

Spinach Cream Ingredients:

  • 2 teaspoons of olive oil
  • 1 pinch of freshly grated nutmeg
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon of butter
  • 2 tablespoons chopped shallot
  • ¾ cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon zest
  • 2 tablespoons finely grated Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese (optional)
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper, or to taste
  • 2 (16 ounce) bags of fresh spinach

Method of preparation:

First start by heating the olive oil in a large pan over high heat; after that put the spinach, cover and cook for 1 minute. Then uncover and stir gently until most of the leaves are bright green and wilt, about 2 minutes. After that, quickly drain the spinach in a colander and transfer to a plate lined with 4 or 5 paper towels. Once cool enough to handle, squeeze out as much liquid as possible from the spinach. Then transfer the spinach to a cutting board and coarsely chop.

After that mix cayenne pepper, nutmeg, salt and black pepper in a small bowl.

Now melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat; stir in the shallots and cook until browned and translucent, 3 to 4 minutes. Then mix the seasoning mixture and pour the cream; increase the heat to medium-high and cook until the cream sauce has reduced by half, about 5 minutes. Then add the lemon zest.

Lastly, reduce the heat to low and toss the spinach and cream sauce in the skillet. After that cook and stir until the spinach is heated through and covered, about 2 minutes. Then stir in the Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese until well combined. After that serve immediately.
