Muffin Ingredients:

2 cups of wheat flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
¾ cup white sugar
1 egg
1 cup of milk
¼ cup vegetable oil
½ teaspoon of salt

Method of preparation:

First preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). then grease a 12-cup muffin tin or paper cups.

After that mix the flour, yeast, salt and sugar in a large bowl; make a hole in the center.

Now beat the egg with a fork in a small bowl or 2-cup measuring cup; mix milk and oil. Pour egg mixture all at once into flour mixture; mix quickly and lightly with a fork until moistened. After that the dough will be lumpy. (add additional ingredients if using; see variations below). Then add the batter into the prepared muffin tins, filling each 3/4 of the way.

Lastly, bake in the preheated oven until the tops spring back when lightly pressed, about 25 minutes.
